Tips for construction quotes
Always list skip hire and rubble removal as a separate line. It's a real cost and the client needs to know it's there. If you don't include it, the cost comes out of your own pocket.
Separate blocklayer and labourer in the quote. They have different day rates and the client understands the price breakdown better.
For renovations, clearly state what is NOT included: plumbing, electrics, units, appliances. Each exclusion is a line that prevents a future argument.
For jobs above €2,000, a deposit and balance structure helps a lot. A renovation of €5,000 split into a €1,750 deposit before materials and €3,250 on completion is easier to approve than one lump sum, and protects you if the job falls through after you've bought materials.
