Make an estimate with a 15-20% margin and note in the quote "estimate subject to confirmation after survey". Most clients understand.
Should I charge for site visit quotes?
It depends on the distance. For surveys up to 15-20 km, most technicians do not charge. Beyond that, a fee of 30-50 euros is reasonable. You can deduct it from the total if the client approves the job.
