Payment methods guide: cards, bank transfer, and installments
Each method has advantages and costs. Know which to use to get paid faster and with less hassle.
Card payments: fast and straightforward
Card payment has become one of the preferred methods for quick transactions. For service professionals, the advantages are clear:
How it works: The client pays directly on the quote link. They enter their card details and confirm.
Advantages: • Client pays in seconds • Available 24/7 • Works with international cards (useful for foreign clients) • Payment confirms immediately
Disadvantages: • Some older clients may be less comfortable entering card details online • Processing fees apply (included in the platform fee)
For professionals: When the client sees "Pay by card" on the Prummo quote, it is one tap and done. No more excuses about "I will transfer it tomorrow".
Fee in Prummo: Standard payment processing fees apply (Stripe). You receive the quoted amount.
Bank transfer: the traditional method
Bank transfer is still widely used, especially for larger amounts.
How it works: You provide your bank details, the client transfers via online banking.
Advantages: • No fees for the professional (if received directly) • Works for any amount • Familiar to everyone
Disadvantages: • Slow: client has to log into banking, enter details, confirm, wait for processing • No automatic confirmation (you have to check your statement) • Easy to postpone ("I will do it tonight" and they forget) • No integration with quote (you do not know which payment corresponds to which job)
Tip: Bank transfer works when the client wants to pay, but it generates the most delays. If possible, offer card or other instant methods as alternatives.
Online payment through Prummo
With Prummo, multiple payment methods are available automatically when you send a quote. The client receives the link via WhatsApp, chooses how to pay, and that is it.
The payment is processed by Stripe, the same platform used by Amazon, Google, and thousands of businesses worldwide. Your bank details are protected and encrypted.
Standard payment processing fees apply for all online payment methods (Stripe/Klarna). If the client pays in cash or by direct bank transfer, there are no processing fees.
You receive a notification when the payment arrives. The money reaches your Stripe account within 1-2 business days and you can transfer it to your bank account at any time.
Installments with Klarna
Klarna lets the client split the payment into 3 interest-free installments. It is integrated into Prummo and appears automatically.
How it works: • The client chooses "Pay in 3" on the quote link • Klarna approves in seconds • You receive the FULL amount immediately • Klarna collects the installments from the client over the following 3 months
Advantages: • Closes jobs the client was postponing because of the total amount • Zero risk for you (Klarna assumes the risk) • You receive everything at once • Interest-free for the client
Disadvantages: • Not all clients are approved by Klarna (depends on credit check) • Available only for certain amounts
With Prummo, you offer card, bank transfer, and Klarna installments automatically. The client chooses what they prefer.
Tip: avoid accepting cheques. They can bounce, take days to clear, and very few banks issue new cheque books to individuals. Card or bank transfer are safer and faster.
